Okay, Now That We Are In The Second Part Of The "Carrie" Review, In 2002, MGM Studios And NBC Decided To Revamp "Carrie" In A Modern World. Which Sounded Good At First, But It Was Going To Be Released As A TV Movie. So, In Other Words... It Wasn't Going To Be Gory As Like The First "Carrie" Movie. Sounds Very Disappointing When You Hear It. But, There Was A Reason Why This Movie Became A TV Movie, There Is A Certain Twist That Threw Off Mostly Everybody. And I Am Going To Tell You What It Is... After I Review This Movie.
We Meet A Shy Girl By The Name Of Carrie White Who Later Realize That She Had The Power Of Telekinesis. But Before That She Was Aware That She Had This Power, She Was Bullied By Most Of Her Classmates, And By Her Heavy Religious Mother, Margret White. The Only People That Befriended Carrie Was Her Gym Teacher, Sue Snell, And Tommy Ross. During That Time, Chris Who Is Carrie's Enemy Is Banned From Her School Prom, Due To The Fact The She Refused To Attending Deletion After Making Fun Of Carrie When Carrie Got Her First Period. When Margret Found Out That Her Daughter That She Got Her First People, She Started To Abuse Her, And Locks Carrie In A Closet Where She Has To Pray To God Of Her Sinful Ways. Sue Snell Who Have Felt Guilty Taunting Carrie, She Ask Her Boyfriend Tommy Ross To Ask Carrie To Go To The Prom With Him. Tommy Caves In And Tell Sue That He Will Ask Carrie To The Prom. For The Last Couple Of Days, Carrie Goes To The Library To Figure Out What Is Causing Her To Do Certain Things With Her Mind, Tommy Ends Up Meeting Carrie In The Library And Ask Carrie To The Prom. Carrie Refused At First, But Finally Gives In, And Accepted. Later On That Night, Chris Found Out That Carrie Is Going To The Prom, And Asked Her Boyfriend, Billy To Help Her Ruin Carrie's Night Of The Prom. Billy Helps Chris By Killing A Innocent Pig And Drain The Pig's Blood Into A Bucket And Set It Up At The High School's Catwalk. While That Was Happening, Carrie Told Margaret That She Was Invited To The Prom. Margaret Threw Her Drink At Carrie, And Telling Her Daughter That She Is Sinning Due To The Fact That She Is Going To The Prom. Carrie Snaps At Her Mother Which Cause Her To Use Her Powers. After Margret Seeing What Her Daughter Can Do, She Claims That Carrie Is A Demon. The Next Day, Everybody Was Getting Ready For The Prom, As Carrie Got Ready For The Prom, Margaret Tries To Talk To Her Daughter Out Of The Prom Think That She Be Made Fun Of, As Much As Margret Tries To Do Anything, Carrie's Powers Would Be Unleashed. As Tommy & Carrie Arrived At The Prom, Everybody Started To See Carrie As A Equal. Carrie's Gym Teacher Talks To Carrie And Tells Her About Her Prom Experience. As Carrie Finish Talking To Her Gym Teacher, Tommy Asked Carrie To Dance With Him, Carrie Was Curious On Why Did Tommy Asked Her Out, Tommy Said That He Liked Carrie, Carrie Accidentally Kisses Tommy, But Tommy Kisses Her Back. After The Dance, Ballots Were Handed Out To The Students To Figure Out Who Was Going To Be The New King And Queen Of The Prom, Carrie And Tommy Found Out That They Were A Part Of The Ballot. After Voting For Themselves, Norma Who Would Be One Of Chris' Cronies Would Be Switching On The Ballots So Carrie And Tommy Would Win The Ballot. After The Ballots Was Switched, It Was Reveal That Carrie And Tommy Win The King And Queen Of The Prom, As They Heading Up To The Stage, Little Did They Know That Chris And Billy Were Secretly Hiding Underneath The Stage. When Carrie & Tommy Went Upstage, Chris & Billy Were Getting Ready To Pull The Rope Of Pig's Blood On Carrie. As Carrie Was Crowned The New Prom Queen, Chris Finally Pulls The Rope And Causes The Blood To Land All Over Carrie. Tommy Wanted To Know Who Did That Prank On Carrie, When Suddenly The Empty Pail Fell On Tommy, And Left Him Out Cold. Chris & Billy Quickly Left Prom, Little Did They Know That Carrie Was Blinded By Rage Due To The Fact That Everybody Was Laughing At Her. Carrie's Rage Started Making Her Use The Powers. She Locked All The Doors, Make The Lights Burn Out Violent, And Started To Use The Fire Hose And Spray Everybody. Carrie's Telekinesis End Up Killing The School Principal, Her Gym Teacher, And Norma. While This Massacre Was Happening, Chris & Billy Was Seeing The Whole Thing Outside By The Gym Window, Chris And Billy Were Shocked And Were Witnessing This Terrifying Massacre. Carrie's Telekinesis Was Getting Stronger By The Minute, She End Up Leaving The Gym, Causing The Gym Be On Fire, And Left Everybody For Dead. As Carrie Was Walking Home, Chris And Billy Were Driving Behind Her, And Chris Was Going Running Carrie Over. Carrie Spotted The Car, And Cause The Car To Flip Over And Explode, Causing Billy And Chris Die Instantly. As Carrie Went Home, She Took A Bath To Clean Out The Pig's Blood, Carrie Was Crying After Realizing That Her Mother Was Right. After Her Bath, Carrie Was Looking For Her Mother, Margaret Found Carrie And Decided To Kill Her Thinking That Her Daughter Is The Devil. Carrie Finds A Way To Protect Her, And For A Last Resort, She Ends Up Using Her Telekinesis To Kill Her Mother. After Carrie Killing Margaret, Carrie Realizing What She Has Done, Carrie's Anger Got So Out Of Control, It Cause Her To Take Her Own Life, And Her Own Home. The House That Carrie And Margaret Once Lived Was Now Gone. Some Time Has Passed By, And Sue Snell Decided To Visit The Remains Of Carrie's House To Pay Her Final Respects For Carrie. Sue Left A Flower When All Of A Sudden, Carrie's Arm Came Out And Started Yanking Sue. Sue Screaming In Terror, And Was Trying To Break Out Of Carrie's Grip, Later Realizing That Sue Was Dreaming And Screaming Into Her Mother's Arms.
Now, That Is How The Original "Carrie" Movie Happened. But, In The 2002 Version... It's Pretty Much The Same, But Some Minor Changes To The Script. Of Course, They Still Made The Story More Updated For A Modern World. They Still Have The Same Characters: Carrie White Is Played By Angela Bettis, Margaret White Is Played By Patricia Clarkson, Miss Desjarden (The Gym Teacher's Original Name In The Book) Played Is By Rena Sofer, Sue Snell Is Played Kandyse McClure, Chris Hargensen Is Played By Emile De Ravin, Tommy Ross Is Played By Tobias Mehler, Billy Nolan Is Play By Jesse Cadotte, And Norma Watson Is Played By Meghan Black.
But, In This Movie They Made New Characters To Make The Movie A Little Longer I Guess. But The Two New Characters That Caught My Attention In This Movie Were Detective John Mulchaey Who Is Played By David Keith And Tina Blake (Even Thought She Was Originally In The Novel, She Made Her Movie Debut In This Movie.) And Tina Blake Was In Played Katharine Isabelle.
Now, The Reason Why Detective Mulchaney Was In This Movie, Is Investigating On The Disappearance Of Carrie White, And Ends Up Interviewing Norma Watson, Miss Desjarden, And Sue Snell. Detective Mulchaney Tries To Figures Out The Connection To Suspects On Carrie. Norma Watson & Miss Desjarden Were The Only One That Were Clean And Had Alibi. Sue Snell Had To Lie To Detective Mulchaney To Keep A Certain Alibi, It Turns Out That Sue Was Secretly Hiding Carrie In A Storage Unit. Sue Decided To Help Carrie To Leave Town To Prevent Carrie Getting Captured By Detective Mulchaney. As Sue & Carrie Were Leaving Town, Carrie Started To Have Nightmares Of Her Mother & Chris. Carrie Wakes Up And Sees Sue Driving Towards Florida.
Trivia: The Reason Why This TV Movie Was Made Is Because It Was Going To Be Originally A TV Series, But Due To Poor Ratings... It Was Never Picked Up.
The Movie Made Its Television Debut 26 Years After The Original "Carrie" Movie Was Released.
Carrie White Is A 17 Year Old Teenager In This Movie Yet Again, But Angela Bettis Was Actually In Her Late Twenties In This Movie. While Most Of The Teenage Cast Were In There Early To Mid Twenties, Angela Happened To Be The Oldest In The Cast... As A Teenager.
A Year After "Carrie" Movie Was Released, During A Interview Angela Bettis Revealed That She Hated It Movie. And She Also Continued To Say That If She Wasn't Apart Of The Movie, She Wouldn't Have Watched The Movie.
My Rating: For This Version Of "Carrie", Wasn't Really That Bad. Of Course, This Was A Made For TV Movie, So I Was Little Disappointed That There Wasn't Any Gore In This Movie. Angela Bettis Performance As Carrie White Was Really Good. She Really Made Carrie Look Like An Outcast In This Movie.

The Production Of The Movie Was Okay. The Special Effects In The Movie Were Mildly Well For A TV Movie, The Only Thing That I Didn't Like For A Special Effect Wise, Was When Carrie Was Walking Towards Her Home, And The Whole Background Was In CGI, And It Was The Cheesy CGI And It Was Green Screened. But, In Some Scenes Where Carrie Uses Her Telekinesis, Is Really Cool Cause They Will Still Uses Some Old School Special Effects That Would Make It Look Real.
The Story In This Movie, I Mostly Like Due To The Fact That This Movie Was More Based On The Novel. Like For Instance, Carrie Has A Flashback When She Was A Child And This Is The First Time Where Her Powers Started To Come Out Around That Time. That Scene Was Originally Was Going To Be In The Original Movie, But They Cut That Scene Out Due To Lack Of Certain Effects. And When Margaret Is Killed By Carrie, Carrie Kills Her By Crushing Her Heart Instantly, And Not By Stabbing Her With Knives.
In Closing, "Carrie" As A TV Movie Was Okay, They Still Kept The Original Concept From The Novel, Which I Like. The Characters In This Movie Did Have Minor Changes Just To Keep It With The Modern World, Which Is Okay, And It Made Some Characters Look A Little Better. For Instance, Chris & Billy In The 1976 Movie Where More Like A Comic Duo, But In This Movie, They Made Chris & Billy A Little Darker, Billy Was More Of A Psycho Than Chris. Not Much Gory Happen In This Movie, And I Can See How They Would Water Down A Little Bit For The Audience. This Movie Is Worth Renting Instead Of Owning It As Part Of A Collection. Unless You Are A Fan Of Horror Movies And Stephen King, It Wouldn't Hurt To Put This In Your Collection. And It's Worth Watching During The Halloween Season!
My Rating For This "Carrie" Movie, By Rating It With The Use Of Internet Memes, "Forever Alone" Being The Lowest, And "AAAAAAWWWWWWW YYYYYEEEEAAAAAHHHHH" Being The Highest.
I Give This "Carrie" A "Close Enough" Rating.
